How to Make the Clam from ABC See, Hear, Do 2

Make this cool clam craft, inspired by the ABC See, Hear, Do 2 book!

Clothespin Bottle Drop

This clothespin bottle drop game couldn’t be easier to put together! Start by saving an old bottle (we used a plastic orange juice container) and cleaning it out. Then grab a bunch of clothespins and write a targeted letter blend on each - we chose /cl/ and /bl/ to start. Finally, let your child drop each clothespin into the bottle, but not before saying the sound of the letter blend on the pin! You can also make it an interactive game by taking turns with your child as you each pick clothespins and see how many you can get correct!

Perler Bead Blends

If you haven’t tried perler beads, you’re missing out! They’re perfect for practicing the /cl/ sound!  Start by creating a C and an L with the same color on the peg board (we helped our little ones with this part). Then let your child fill in the rest of the peg board with a variety of perler beads!  Once their creation is complete, adults can lay a piece of wax paper over the completed pegboard and iron the beads so they fuse together! Once melted, fused, and cooled, let your little ones enjoy their new creation as they practice the /cl/ blend!

CL Snack Idea: Clam Cookies

This yummy treat is a cute and fun treat that goes perfectly with the clam from our ABC See, Hear, Do 2 Book! Frosting, vanilla wafers, and candy eyes are the only ingredients you need to make this super simple and delicious snack!
