Letter S Crafts and Activities

We've got a lot of fun letter S  ideas for you! Try some of these crafts or activities to reinforce the letter S sound.

Indoor Snowballs

Indoor snowballs are an inexpensive but educational way to "throw in" some letter practice (pun intended). Start by taping various letters to the wall. Then use cotton balls or crumpled paper for the “snowballs.” Let your child pick a letter and try to hit it with their snowball. As they throw, encourage them to say the letter sound. You can even have a friendly competition to see who can hit the most letters and correctly say the letter sounds!

Letter S Snake

S is for snake! This letter craft is a great way to help your kids or students create while learning letters and letter sounds.

Letter S Sheep Craft

S is for sheep! Make a simple sheep craft using paper, cotton balls, glue, and googly eyes. Cut a piece of black paper into a sheep shape, glue cotton balls onto the body, cut out a head, add eyes, and voila! Your fuzzy little sheep is complete!

Letter S Snake Snack

Practice the S sound as you're making these yummy snake-shaped breadsticks!  Use a can of dough (or make your own), shape into snakes, and bake at 350 for 11-13 minutes.  Once out of the oven, add a mini-chocolate chip for each eye and a piece of licorice for the tongue.  Don’t forget to practice saying the S sound as you eat! Ssssss…..
